How we are funded:
A Mile in Her Shoes is a small charity, run entirely by volunteers who do not get paid. So we rely upon funding and do what we can to raise money to continue doing what we do.
Fundraising:
We organise a number of our own fundraising events and activities.
If you would be interested in donating money or holding an event to raise money for us, however big or small, or want to raise cash for us through a sponsored activity such as a race, we would love to hear from you.
Grants:
We have successfully applied for a number of small grants from UnLTD (given to us via London South Bank University), the London Community Foundation Wellbieng & Happiness Grant and the Mayor of London FreeSport initiative in association with Coca-Cola Zero ParkLives.
Clothing donations:
A Mile in Her Shoes provides all the appropriate clothing for participants including sports bras and footwear suitable for running. Much of the kit is donated and second-hand - most of it comes from other runners - but it all needs to be in extremely good condition and the sports bras and socks we provide are always bought brand new.
We welcome donations of unwanted running clothing or shoes that looks good and is only slightly worn condition that we can re-use or re-sell to fund our projects.
Pop-up and online charity shop:
We always prioritise the best of the second-hand running clothing that is donated to us to give to participants in our run groups. However we sell some of the remainder to the public in order to generate income for our charity in our aim to be sustainable and not reliant on donated funds.
